Once you have a signed contract on your home, there are several important steps towards completing the sale. First, the purchaser will likely complete a home inspection and present you with items to be corrected. Once you have negotiated with the purchaser as to what items you agree to repair, you will need to get those items repaired or give an agreed upon monetary credit. Next, normally within 30 days prior to closing, you will need to have a termite inspection company inspect the property and issue a report. If there are any termites or damage from termites, you will need to have that corrected if the contract requires it.
